Have you had gender reassignment surgery? Did you have a labour which involved a cut or a tear? Did you have an accident or surgery? Are you struggling with your new body?

If you have a scar or scars from an accident, injury, trauma, infection or surgery, you may notice restriction, numbness or tension in and around them.

Scar tissue is a build-up of collagen fibres. These adhesions can be remedied with the use of castor oil application via palpation and/or the use of castor oil packs.

I have worked on a range of scars which were a result of brain surgery, appendectomy, episiotomy and perineotomy. Having recently had surgery on my foot, I will also be working on my own scars.

My training is founded in Ellen Heed’s work. Ellen is a pioneer in this field and provides educational training programmes covering the anatomical nature of scar tissue, together with the use of castor oil through touch and and using castor oil packs. Using this knowledge and techniques, we can free up these scars and give ourselves the valuable self care we need.

It is important to acknowledge that there could also be strong emotions and experiences held in the body relating to the scars.

We can create a neutral space to feel what is being felt.

I offer scar tissue remediation and embodied coaching.

This involves conversation, witnessing, hands-on touch and manipulation, as well as education about self-care to support you in minimising the impact of scars on the rest of your body and the nervous system.

The key here is that scars that were made years, or even decades ago, can be transformed by scar tissue remediation with castor oil.

One of my client’s scars from childbirth was from a procedure 22 years ago, and a change in the tissues was evident in the first session.

This is about seeing, feeling and integrating your scars.
